Rust servers with a trio limit
Every server on this page has a published group limit of three. Teams of four or more cannot form, so fights stay small. The table below shows servers that are online now, with live player counts from Steam. It refreshes every five minutes.
Three is the most common team cap after solo and duo, so this list is longer than you might expect. Sort by Players for the busiest servers, or by Next wipe if you want a fresh start. Region matters: most trio servers are in Europe, and US and Australian players often find their quiet hours overlap with European peak times. Rates vary. Servers with 2x, 3x or 5x in the name gather faster; those without a rate are usually vanilla.
Questions
4 answers about this page and the numbers on it.
How does a trio server enforce the group limit?
Most servers rely on the game's own team system, which caps the team size at three. Some also use plugins or admin checks to catch players who work together without forming an in-game team. Enforcement varies, so check the server's rules on its own page or in its description.
How often do trio servers wipe?
Servers set their own wipe schedules, and trio servers vary as much as any other type. Weekly and monthly wipes are both common. Facepunch's force wipe, which affects all servers, happens on the first Thursday of each month. Check the Next wipe column for each server's own schedule.
Are trio servers good for new players?
They can be. A three-player limit means you will not meet ten-player clans, so early fights are easier to read. But trio servers still run at full Rust difficulty: monuments, raiding and resource competition are unchanged. If you are learning the game, beginner servers may be a better starting point.
What does the group limit mean on this page?
It is the maximum number of players a team can have on that server, as published by the server owner. A trio server has a limit of three. The limit does not stop players from cooperating informally, but it does stop them from joining the same in-game team.
More about these servers
The table is a live view, not a fixed ranking. Player counts move hour by hour, and a server can sit near the top after a wipe and fall back within a day. Use the Rank column for a steadier picture: it looks at a week of data. If you want to filter by region, wipe schedule or rate, the full list has those controls. For a smaller group, see duo servers; for no team cap at all, solo is the other end of the scale.
