Rust tutorial servers
This page lists public Rust servers that run Facepunch's tutorial. Some use the official tutorial tag. Others put the word in their name. The table below shows 447 servers online at the last refresh. It updates every five minutes.
The tutorial is the same on every server. You start on a private island and learn the controls, gathering, crafting and building. When you finish, you join the main map. The island does not change the server's rates, group limit or wipe schedule.
The tutorial has no effect on how a server plays after the island. If a server is 2x, it stays 2x. If it wipes monthly, it still wipes monthly. The table shows gather rate, group limit, region, map size and next wipe where the server publishes them.
Many large official servers keep the tutorial switched on, so this list has the same busy servers you would see on a general ranking page. Population alone will not tell you which ones are quiet training grounds. Check the other columns before you queue.
Facebook's tutorial can be skipped. If you have played before, you can leave the island and join the map at once.
Questions
4 answers about this page and the numbers on it.
Does the tutorial change how a Rust server plays?
No. The tutorial is the same on every server that runs it. Once you leave the island, the server's gather rate, group limit and other settings apply as normal. You can skip the tutorial if you have played before.
How often do tutorial servers wipe?
They follow the same wipe schedules as other Rust servers. Most run monthly wipes, with fewer on weekly or biweekly cycles. A wipe resets the map, and some servers also reset blueprints. The next wipe for each server is shown in the table.
Can I sort the table by region or group limit?
Not on this page. The search box matches server names and addresses only. To filter by region, group limit or other columns, use the full server list, which has all the filters.
Are tutorial servers good for new players?
They can be. The tutorial gives you a safe space to learn the controls before you meet other players. After that, the server is the same as any other. Check the population and group limit columns to find a server that suits your pace.
More about these servers
The table is sorted by live players, highest first. That order changes through the day as servers fill and empty. Nothing on the page is a fixed ranking.
Use the search box to find a word in a server name or address. It does not search region, group limit or tags. If you want to filter by those, use the full server list, which has the complete set of columns and filters.
Wipe dates come from each server's own schedule. Force wipes are set by Facepunch and affect every server at once; see when the next force wipe is for the current date. Blueprint wipes are separate and are decided by the server owner.
If you are new to Rust, a smaller server with a lower population and a longer wipe cycle is often easier than a large one. The tutorial will teach you the basics either way, but the first days after you leave the island are what matter.
